Nuggets get fourth straight victory with win over Houston

In just his second game back after the death of his sister, Carmelo Anthony scored 33 while leading the Nuggets to a 113-106 victory over the Houston Rockets. It was the club's fourth straight victory.

Anthony also recorded a double-double, grabbing 11 rebounds to go along with his 13 free throws.

"I was just trying to be aggressive and get to the rack," Anthony said. "Sometimes they call it, sometimes they don't. You know, when you shoot 14 free throws, it' hard for them to call every time you get fouled."

Nene chipped in with a strong performance, scoring 16 points and grabbing 11 rebounds.

Houston forward Shane Battier said the descrepancy in free throw shooting was the different in the game.

"We didn't do a very good job of keeping [Anthony] off the line," Battier said. "It's tough to play on the road and overcome the 40 free throws they had as a team."

The Nuggets will look to make it five wins in a row on Wednesday night when they travel to Los Angeles to take on the Clippers and their explosive rookie Blake Griffin.

  1. I've never really been much of a sports fan, but when reading your blog it made me want to be one. Perhaps I'll pay more attention now to what's going on in the "sports world."

  2. I'm not really a big sports fan, but I heard the other day that the Nuggets are one of the scariest teams off the court. I heard that they have earned themselves the nickname "Thuggets." I thought that that was pretty funny. Anyway I like your blog, very informative. That is sad about Carmelo Anthonys sister. I hope that she wasn't very young.
